The beginning of the school year can bring some fears and tears from our little music makers especially in our schools where the 2 year old class has to leave their classroom, which they are just starting to feel comfortable in, and make the journey down the hall to the music room. By the time they ...
Hello! There was a question about South American music so I decided to just do a post about Spanish language music in MR/MB! The Spanish CD is a great place to find music from many Spanish speaking countries, and "Cheki Morena" even has a song that talks about many cities over the world where Spanis...

My classes are restricted to 30 minutes each by the parks and rec center at this time. Is it ok if I only submit a 30 minute lesson video? Or do I need to teach exactly 45 minutes? I have all the other pieces: ukulele, gathering drum, instrument kits, puppets, MR membership.
Also, what is the best way to submit a video to you? YouTube? or do I need to mail a thumbdrive/DVD to you?
Finally, as an update: For my first semester teaching MR, I managed to get some folks to attend the Toddlers Make Music, and Kids Make Music editions at the Parks and Rec department. I have 4 in 1 class, and 2 in another with more people asking about it. Super stoked!
I also managed to get a position at a preschool starting the Big Kids Make music program there. Again, I'm limited to 30 minutes, but I hope to expand the time at both locations soon once the directors in charge see ... less

I'm teaching my first Baby class tomorrow (CIIITED!!). THe floor is tile. I'm planning on having a mat and blankets for the babies, but am wondering if the tile floor might scratch the gathering drum head when it's flipped for Row Your Boat? Would you suggest putting the drum on a mat?
Also, I had my drum out yesterday, and it turns out my toddler REALLY likes to walk on it. I know you let babies crawl on the drum. Wondering how sturdy it is? I want to let kids experiment. Don't want to replace my drum =)
Thank you!! less

The little clown is so popular(my daughter made a really cute one) and I love the Ladybug song. I am trying to figure out how to promote the program in the local Rec Centre brochure. Can I call it Music Rhapsody although of course at a Rec Centre it is not possible to hold the classes exactly as in the lesson plans, although all the music is Music Rhapsodies music? If I cannot call it Music Rhapsody, what do I call it and which words would you consider the most important ones to use in the brochure write up to bring out the nature of the program? Thank you for your help.

Lynn Kleiner commented on Lynn Kleiner's video: Unicorn Horn was my top answer but this week a student sang "Pumpkin needs a shadow." And then drew a big shadow under the pumpkin. Quite amazing!

I was wondering about the length of your preschool classes (sans parents). Do you continue to use the standard MR curriculum and modify? or do you have a separate set of plans? Do you require these students to have an instrument kit? Also, how long are the classes?
Sorry for the question barrage! just something I'm dealing with right now while trying to stay true to your program.
